California Real Estate: Sacramento County Real Estate
One of the best aspects of purchasing a home is the likelihood the property will increase in value over time. Most other major purchases people make, such as vehicles, major appliances, computers and the like, have a tendency to decrease in value very rapidly after purchase. The increase in value makes a home an investment for the future.
While it is difficult to project the speed at which housing values will increase in the long term, many people look at the recent history of an area to determine what the near future holds. In 2000, the median value for homes in Sacramento County was just over $144,000. By 2003, this median value increased for Sacramento County real estate to over $244,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
A number of different factors can be attributed to the median value increase of homes in Sacramento County. During the three-year period, more expensive homes may have been built in the county than lower cost homes. The popularity of living in the county has increased the value of homes in the county as more people want to live in the area and fewer homes are available. No matter the reasons for this value increase, the housing market looks good for a home retaining and gaining value over the next few years.
Choose Sacramento County Real Estate Wisely
Even though the housing market looks good overall in Sacramento County, you still need to choose the right property to see an increase in value. While many areas in the county are seeing increases in values, some areas see increases faster than others do. A good real estate agent should have his thumb on the pulse of property values in Sacramento County at all times to direct you to fast growing areas if you desire.
